Jo has often been accused of being excessively cheery during WODs, but she really can’t help it – she’s just got a rather peculiar combination of caffeine, delusion, and utter joy at being a pretty darn decent CrossFit masters athlete. Having come to the whole get-off-the-couch thing late in life, Jo came to CrossFit Huachuca with 5 years group class experience in a local gym and 5 years with a local belly dance troupe; since then, it’s been 5 years of regular CF-ing, 2 years with a local running group, and 3 years with a local Zumba tribe – when it comes to fitness, she’ll try anything once! She’s competed in the CrossFit Open every year since 2014 (as Jo Johnsdottir, but that didn’t really help), competed in a local power-and-oly competition in 2015, and currently serves as the Functional Fitness leader for the local chapter of Team RWB. An externally motivated athlete, her fitness philosophy is, “I have NEVER regretted showing up to the box.” She’s actively working on Coach Pete to rescind the whole “no jazz hands before 8am” rule, because her other fitness philosophy is “CrossFit is FUN!” Jo’s looking forward to helping CFH’s athletes achieve their best results and building the best CF community in Cochise County!
